What is steel palisade fence?

Palisade fence is built from vertical steel pales fixed to two or three horizontal rails, which are bolted to steel posts. The folded W or D profile makes each pale stiff, and the pointed tops make the fence hard to climb over.

W section pales are the most common choice for general and industrial sites. D section pales use thicker steel and a rounded profile for higher security. Each pale is fixed with security bolts or rivets so it cannot be removed from outside.

Palisade fence is widely used where a strong, visible deterrent is needed. All parts are hot-dip galvanized, with optional polyester powder coating.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between W and D section pales?

W section pales have a folded W-shaped profile and are the standard choice. D section pales have a rounded profile in thicker steel for higher security.

Which pale top should I choose?

Triple pointed and splayed tops give the strongest anti-climb deterrent. Round or flat tops suit sites near public walkways.

How are the pales fixed?

Each pale is fixed to the rails with security bolts and shear nuts, or with rivets, so it cannot be removed from outside.

Is palisade fence supplied assembled?

It is supplied as components — pales, rails, posts and fixings — and assembled on site bay by bay.

Can I choose the height and colour?

Yes. Fence height, pale profile, pale top and RAL colour can be made to your specification.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Fence height, total length, pale profile and top, finish and colour, and the number of corners and gates.
