What is double wire mesh fence?

Each horizontal position has two wires welded on either side of the vertical wires. This twin-wire construction makes a flat panel much stiffer than single-wire mesh, so no bends are needed to keep it straight.

The type name gives the wire sizes: 868 uses twin 8 mm horizontal wires with 6 mm verticals; 656 uses twin 6 mm horizontals with 5 mm verticals. 868 is the heavy-duty option for industrial and public sites; 656 suits commercial and general boundaries.

Panels are fixed to posts with clamp bars or clips. We supply complete systems in galvanized and powder-coated finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do 868 and 656 mean?

They describe the wire sizes in millimetres: twin 8 mm horizontal wires with a 6 mm vertical wire (868), or twin 6 mm horizontals with a 5 mm vertical (656).

Which type should I choose?

868 is the heavy-duty option for industrial, public and sports sites. 656 is lighter and suits commercial and general boundaries.

How is double wire fence different from 3D welded mesh fence?

Double wire panels are flat and get their strength from paired horizontal wires. 3D panels use single wires and horizontal V-bends for stiffness.

Are posts and fittings included?

Yes. We supply complete systems including posts, clamp bars or clips, bolts and post caps.

Can I choose the panel size and colour?

Yes. Panel height, width, wire combination and RAL colour can be made to your specification.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Panel type (868 or 656), fence height, total length, colour, post installation method, and the number of corners and gates.
