What is 358 anti-climb fence?

The name 358 comes from the mesh's imperial dimensions: 3" × 0.5" openings welded from 8-gauge (4 mm) wire. The horizontal wires are only 12.7 mm apart — too close for fingers or shoe tips to find a hold, and too tight for most hand tools to cut through easily.

Each panel is welded from straight steel wires and fixed to the posts with a full-height clamp bar, giving a continuous barrier without gaps at the post. Despite its density, the mesh keeps clear sight lines for CCTV and patrols.

We supply complete systems — panels, posts, clamp bars and security fixings — in galvanized, powder-coated or PVC-coated finishes, with panel sizes made to your fence layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "358" mean?

It refers to the mesh dimensions in inches: a 3" × 0.5" aperture welded from 8-gauge wire, which is about 4 mm in diameter.

Why is 358 mesh hard to climb?

The horizontal wires are spaced only 12.7 mm apart, which is too narrow for fingers or shoe tips, so there are no climbing holds on the fence face.

What is the difference between 358 fence and 3D welded mesh fence?

3D welded mesh fence uses larger openings, typically 50 × 200 mm, for general boundaries. 358 fence has a much tighter mesh and is used where higher security is required.

Are posts and fittings included?

Yes. We supply complete systems including posts, clamp bars, bolts, post caps and base plates where required.

Can I choose the panel size and colour?

Yes. Panel height, width, wire diameter and RAL colour can be made to your specification.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Fence height, total length, finish and colour, post installation method, and the number of corners and gates.
